Communities
Who hosts races on bdr, what Ranked and Unranked hosts mean, and what the community page shows.
A community is a group that runs races on bdr: it brings its own servers and publishes its own seasons and events. Ratings, licences and stewarding are shared across all communities, so you keep one ELO and one Safety Rating wherever you race.
The community page
Open Communities under People. The page has four parts.

"Races run" counts races whose results have been published.
Ranked and unranked hosts
Every community is either ranked or unranked. The badge shows which.

New communities start as unranked. A community asks for ranked status from its own page, and the bdr team decides. See Ranked status.
The badge also appears on each race: Unranked host on a race page means that race will not move your ratings. After such a race, its result shows Unranked · Untrusted host. See Ratings for everything else a race needs to be ranked.
Tip
Racing with an unranked host is a good way to practise a series or try a new community without risking your ratings. Your points in their standings still count.
